My friend Pete was flying home from a long conference. The weather was hysterical, heavy storms and an oncoming tornado threat. Even so, it came as quite a surprise when the flight captain suddenly announced that due to severe weather conditions the plane would have to make a non scheduled landing at Witchwotwhere Airport, 5 miles North of Pitts City. After landing, Pete was informed that there would be no planes out of there that night and that he should try and find a room at a local hotel.

Pitts City has only one hotel and when Pete reached the front desk he was in for a disappointment.

“I’m sorry sir,” said the clerk, “but the women over there with the red hair just took our last available room.”

Pete looked to his right and saw a smartly dressed business woman gathering up her matching suitcases and starting to head towards the elevator.

“Sir, maybe you can persuade the lady to share the room with you.”

The women stopped in her tracks and gave Pete a good looking over.

“You stranded here too are you?” She asked.

“Sure looks that way.” replied Pete.

She pondered the idea for a moment. “Look, I don’t know you, you don’t know me, we both don’t know anyone here. As long as you’re willing to sleep on the sofa, I can’t see any harm in the idea.”

Thanking the desk clerk for his help, Pete followed the women up to the room.

Room 78A was a pleasant room with a spacey  double bed, a large LCD TV, a reproduction of Monet and no sofa.

“Guess that means I’m sleeping on the floor” sad Pete and started organizing himself.

Ten minutes passed before the red head spoke again.

“You know, I don’t know you, you don’t know me, neither of us know anyone here. This is a really big bed. Plenty of room for two of us. You keep to your side, I keep to mine. What can be wrong with that?” So Pete took the right side of the bed, next to the window. He’d almost fallen asleep when the red head moved towards him.

“Look, I don’t know you, you don’t know me, nether of us know anyone here let’s party!”

“Lady,” answered Pete, “I don’t know you, you don’t know me, neither of us know anyone here. Who’s there to party with?”
