When the rain came down
The people were in shock.

To the center of town
They sped just like a flock.
The clouds burst open
And the crowd all cheered
For one single, solemn moment
They forgot all their fears.
And the  pitter and the patter
Was all  that mattered
On the block.

When the rain came down
A new hope filled the air
Across a  nation from town to town
They all came out to stare.
The electric light carnival
Caused such a great splash.
Up up in the heavens
Came a musical flash.
While above  he stood silent,
The man with the dashing green hair.

Rainman, Rainman
Up on the mountain,
Nobody gave you a chance.
“Rainman, Rainman
You don’t fit in man!”
They laughed when you got up and danced.
You preached and you sermoned
But nobody came
When things would go wrong
It was you took the blame
It’s finally time
for your ten minutes of fame have begun.

As the rain comes down
He stands there like Thor.
He seems to  ignore
What goes on.
There’s danger all around
In the heavens,  on  the ground
He  ignores it and  the tribe he came from.
“I’m rainman , The rainman”
He cries at the rain.
In answer a  bolt shoots his way.
His ten minutes are over
He is buried next day
The sun shines in protest,
The rainstorm is gone.
