No Word from Loch Ness: Goodbye Nellie?
During the past year there has been only one known sighting of the Loch Ness Monster. Experts tend to think that Nellie has left us. Elton John has once again adapted his lyrics.
Goodbye Nellie dear
Though we never really knew you at all
You kept the whole world guessing
And the Loch Ness dwellers rich.
An occasional appearance
Helped to keep the legend alive
You let the Scotsmen thrive
Now the trade is in the ditch. And you filled the minds
of a world that dined
On a dino in the mist.
Never sure what they were seeing
From their tourist boats.
And we sure would have liked to see you
But you played hard to get.
Now you seem to be gone for good
Be sure we won’t forget.Goodbye Nellie dear
Your sightings fill up youtube to the brim
You may be the real thing
But sceptics disagree.
Oh my Nellie dear
Were you even with us for one day?
Why did you refuse to come out and play
You would have been our favorite pet.But you chose to hide
From the world outside
Just a dino in the mist.
We never knew if we would spot you
When the clouds dispersed.
And we so much wanted to see you
Towards the break of day.
Now the sightings are over
Why did you go away?
