The Zoomquilt Project: What would the world be like if we stuck it in a museum?
Zoomquilt is one of those clever projects that change the way we think about art. Take a Hieronymus Bosch backdrop, add around thirty gifted artists and zoom motion and what results is a kaleidoscope of animated comic horror on the move. A 21st century quilt hidden in a House of Horrors.
The first Zoomquilt was produced in 2004 and allowed for manual use of the mouse to control the zooming. The sequal with more elaboate art, called Zoomquilt 2, uses flash to perform the zooming and gives the viewer a more movie like arcade experience. There is also a Zoomquilt 2 screensaver. Here are a few screenshots to give you an idea of what you can expect.
